SHOWDOWN AT MEMORIAL CUP
Canada’s national junior hockey championship, the Memorial Cup, is underway at the Colisee Pepsi in Quebec City. The host Quebec Remparts defeated the QMJHL champion Rimouski Oceanic 5-2 in a tie-breaker game Thursday night and will face Kelowna Rockets in Friday’s semifinal game. All three teams finished round-robin play with 1-2 records. The Rockets with the best goals for and against record took second place. The Oceanic forced the tie-breaker game by defeating the Remparts 4-0 Wednesday night. Thursday’s game was the ninth meeting between the two QMJHL rivals this month and the 17th this season.
The OHL champion Oshawa Generals went 3-0 in round robin play and now wait to see who their opponent will be in Sunday’s championship game.
All games are being televised live on Sportsnet.
Several Atlantic Canadians are on the rosters of the both the Remparts and Oceanic.

TERRIAULT GRADUATES TO SMU HUSKIES
  DIEPPE, NB, May 28, 2015 - The goaltender that helped lead the Dieppe Commandos to their first Kent Cup Maritime Junior Hockey League championship, Marc Terriault has committed to study at Saint Mary's University and play for the men's hockey Huskies, the Commandos announced Wednesday.
 
RITCEY NAMED FULL-TIME PRESIDENT OF MHL
  TRURO, NS, May 26, 2015 - A Truro, NS, native, Dave Ritcey, has been appointed the new full time president of the Maritime Junior Hockey League, the region's junior A league announced on Monday. Ritcey has filled the presidency role on an interim basis since the resignation of Derryl Smith on February 24th.

  NEW GLASGOW, NS, May 19, 2015 - The Pictou County Weeks Junior A Crushers of the Maritime Junior Hockey League has announced that Doug Doull, associate coach of the league champion Dieppe Commandos this past season, has been named the team’s new head coach and assistant general manager of the Crushers.
 
MACDONALD NOT RETURNING TO ISLANDERS
  CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI, May 19, 2015 - After five seasons as head coach of the Charlottetown Marks Work Wearhouse Major Midget Hockey Club of the NB-PEI Major Midget Hockey League Jeff MacDonald will not be returning to the position for the 2015-16 season. MacDonald made the announcement Tuesday.

JOSEPH LEAVING WILDCATS TO BE HEAD COACH
  MONCTON, NB, May, 13, 2015 - Associate Coach Fabian Joseph has notified the Moncton Wildcats of his desire to pursue head coaching opportunities after eight seasons as a member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team's coaching staff. While his preference would be with another team in the QMJHL, he said he could also be open to other opportunities.

Guilliame Gauthier's goal at 14:23 of the third period broke up a 3-3 battle between the Quebec Remparts and the Moncton Wildcats in game two of the QMJHL semi-final series and gave the Remparts a two games to none lead in the best of seven series.
