CAN SEA DOGS REPEAT? - About a year ago the Saint John Sea Dogs celebrated the franchise's first Memorial Cup and became the first major junior team from Atlantic Canada to do so. This week in Shawinigan the Sea Dogs, repeat Quebec Major Junior Hockey League champions, will have a opportunity to repeat their historical accomplisment. MEMORIAL CUP STARTS FRIDAY

The 2012 Memorial Cup, Canada’s Junior Hockey Championship, will get underway this Friday in Shawinigan, QC. The defending champion Saint John Sea Dogs will again be the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League representatives while the Shawinigan Cataractes is the host team. Both have players from Atlantic Canada but most of the Sea Dogs players and coaching staff are from this region. Hockeyscene.com will have daily reports, game summaries, pictures and more and all games are being televised on Sportsnet. Be sure to check out the interesting information on the Notebook page.

ROCKET TO OPEN SEASON WITH FESTIVE WEEKEND
  CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI, May 17, 2012 - The PEI Rocket will open the team's 2012-13 season at home against the Moncton Wildcats on Friday, September 21 and then host the Halifax Mooseheads two days later. These dates were requested by the Rocket to allow for an opening weekend with a festival type environment.

May 13, 2012 – The Penticton Vees and Woodstock Slammers will meet for the 2012 RBC Cup and to become Canada’s 42nd National Junior A Champions, after posting semifinal wins on Saturday at Elgar Petersen Arena. The Vees defeated the Soo Thunderbirds 3-0, while the Slammers topped the host Humboldt Broncos 4-3 in overtime.

  ST. JOHN'S, NL, May 12, 2012 - The St. John’s IceCaps are moving on in the American Hockey League playoffs.
