WILDCATS GET VETERAN D
While the Moncton Wildcats will neither confirm or deny reports, the QMJHL team appears to have obtained the 20 year-old defenceman that Director of Hockey Operations Roger Shannon has been looking for. The team has apparently obtained the rights to Laval, QC native Dominic Talbot-Tassi from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada for a third round pick in 2016. He has played more than 135 games over two seasons and parts of two others.
In other team news forward Vladimir Tkachev has been invited to Edmonton Oilers main camp. He was a free agent invitee to rookie camp

  SAINT JOHN, NB September 16, 2014 - The Saint John Sea Dogs has added free agent right winger Anthony Salemi, a 17-year-old native of Brooklin, Ontario, to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team's roster on a three-day tryout.
 
V-REDS WELCOME PRO VETERAN TO TEAM'S NET
  FREDERICTON, N.B, September 16, 2014 -  UNB Varisty Reds has added veteran goaltender David Shantz to their 2014-15 roster. Shantz, a former second-round pick, 37thoverall for the Florida Panthers. is coming to UNB after a few years off from hockey. He certainly made his mark last night (Monday) in an exhibition which he not only won but had a shutout against the St. Thomas Tommies.
 
NS JUNIOR C LEAGUE ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE
  CLARE, NS, September 16, 2014 - The Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League is set to begin play on the weekend of Friday September 26th. The six team league released the 2014-15 regular season schedule and playoff format Tuesday.
 
RED DEER , ALBERTA TO HOST 2015 ESSO CUP
  CALGARY, AB, September 16, 2014 - Red Deer, AB, will host the 2015 Esso Cup, Canada’s National Female Midget Championship, from April 19-26, 2015, Hockey Canada, in partnership with Hockey Alberta, the Red Deer Minor Hockey Commission and the Alberta Major Midget Female Hockey League (AMMFHL), announced Tuesday.
 
HOCKEY CANADA CENTURY TOUR ON PEI
  SUMMERSIDE, PEI, September 15, 2014 - Hockey Canada turns 100 on December 4, 2014, and the organization plans to spend the whole season celebrating. As part of those celebrations Hockey Canada has a travelling road show called The Century Tour which is now in Prince Edward Island.

GRAHAM NAMED FIRST STAR OF 2014-15 SEASON
  MONCTON, NB, September 15, 2014 - Dieppe Commandos forward Robbie Graham has been named the first star of the week for the opening week of the 2014-15 Maritime Junior Hockey League season. Pictou County Weeks Crushers forward Mike Lyle is second star and Commandos forward Cody Drover is third star.
 
FARRELL IS A QMJHL STAR OF OPENING WEEK
  BOUCHERVILLE, QC, September 15, 2014 - Cape Breton Screaming forward Kyle Farrell was one of three players named Monday as the three stars of the week in the Quebec Major JUnior Hockey League for the opening week of the 2014-15 season, September 10 to 14, 2014. Alexis Loiseau and Kay Schweri were the other two named.
 
NS MAJOR MIDGETS ASSIST RYAN SHAY
  HALIFAX, NS, September 15, 2014 - The eight teams from the Nova Scotia Eastlink Major Midget Hockey League used the preseason games to raise funds for Ryan Shay, a former South Shore Mustangs player who was left paralyzed after a car accident in 2013.
 
ANTIGONISH AND MONCTON WIN IN EXHIBITION
  SPRINGHILL, NS, September 14, 2014 - The pre season is underway inthe Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League and this past weekend while a tournament was taking place in St. Margaret's Bay, three teams from the province and one from New Brunswick were kicking off the pre se4ason with a game each. League play gets underway this upcoming weekend.

  BRIDGEWATER, NS, September 14, 2014 - The Bridgewater Lumberjacks of the Maritime JUnior Hockey League has dealt the MHL rights to defenceman Patrick Byrne and a 6th round selection to the Campbellton Tigers for the rights to forward Keenan Kennedy.

  MONCTON, NB, September 14, 2014 - Conor Garland and Christophe Lalonde each had a goal and two assists as the Moncton Wildcats defeated the Saint John Sea Dogs 5-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Sunday at Moncton Coliseum to take the lead in the season long Rivalry Cup battle.
 
GLADIATORS AND WEEKS WIN SUNDAY
  PICTOU COUNTY, NS, September 14, 2014 - The first weekend of regular play in the Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League saw Pictou County Weeks defeat the Halifax McDonalds 3-1 and the Dartmouth Newbridge Academy Gladiators edge the Cape Breton Tradesmen 5-4.
 
LIAM CONRAD SCORES THREE IN FLYERS WIN
  FREDERICTON, NB, September 14, 2014 - The Moncton Mark's Work Wearhouse Flyers had to come back to take a 4-3 win over the Fredericton Canadiens  in a shootout but it kept their streak alive and they complete pre season play without a loss in NB-PEI Major Midget hockey.
 
WESTERN KINGS WIN ONE, LOSE ONE ON WEEKEND
  CORNER BROOK, NL, September 14, 2014 - The Western Kings won one and lost one to the t. John's Maple Leafs in the first weekend of the regular season of the Newfoundland Major Midget League. The Leafs won 4-3 in a shootout Saturday and the Kings bounced back Sunday with a 4-3 win in regulation.
 
TOURNEY WRAPPED UP WITH BLAZERS UNDEFEATED
  ST, MARGARETS BAY, September 14, 2014 - The final day of the Officials Performance of Excellence tourney were held Sunday with the Sackville Blazers shutting out the East Hants Penguins 4-0 and The Cole Harbour Colts skating to a 4-4 tie with the Liverpool Privateers.
 
ISLANDERS WIN SECOND STRAIGHT OVER VALLEY
  PORT HOOD, NS, September 14,  2014 - The Cape Breton West Islanders made it two in a row as they won their second game of the Nova Scotia Major Midget hockey season opening weekend 8-6 over the Valley Wildcats.
 
GAUDET LEADS MARINERS OVER TIMBERWOLVES
  YARMOUTH, NS, September 13, 2014 - Summerside, PEI native Chase Gaudet made 26 saves as the Yarmouth Mariners celebrated a new Maritime Junior Hockey League season in southwestern Nova Scotia by edging the Miramichi Timberwolves 2-1 for a season opening win Saturday night in Yarmouth.
 
WILDCATS PICK UP WIN AGAINST LUMBERJACKS
  BERWICK, NS, September 13, 2014 - Playing the third game in as many nights as part of the season opening weekend in the Maritime Junior Hockey League, the Valley Junior A Wildcats defeated the Bridgewater Lumberjacks 5-2 Saturday night at the KIngs Mutual Century Centre in Berwick.
 
HALIFAX McDONALDS SHUT OUT SOUTH SHORE
  HALIFAX, NS, September 13, 2014 - Lead by Logan MacLellan with a hat trick, the Halifax McDonalds shut out the South Shore Mustangs 4-0 in their opening game of the 214-15 Nova Scotia Major Midget schedule Saturday night at the Civic Centre.
 
SLAMMERS GO 2-0 WITH WIN AT THE JUNGLE
  AMHERST, NS, September 13, 2014 - The Woodstock Slammers won the team's second straight game on the opening weekend of the 2014-15 Maritime Junior Hockey League weekend with an 8-4 doubling of the Amherst Ramblers Saturday night at Amherst Stadium spoiling the Ramblers home and season opener.
 
WILD WIN BATTLE OF ISLAND MAJOR MIDGETS
  KENSINGTON, PEI, September 13, 2014 - The Kensington Wild took first blood with a 6-4 win over their Island rivals the Charlottetown Islanders in an exhibition home and home series of the NB-PEI Major Midget Hockey League. The next game is Sunday afternoon in Charlottetown.

  SYDNEY, NS, September 13, 2014 - The Dartmouth Newbridge Gladiators travelled to Sydney to face eoff against the Cape Breton Tradesmen in the opening weekend of the Nova Scotia Major Midget 2014-15 hockey season and came away with a 4-2 win. The two will meet again tomorrow (Sunday) at 2:00pm for their second game.

The Pack will play the South Shore Mustangs tomorrow (Sunday) at 1:00pm and the Weeks will host the Halifax McDonalds at the P.C. Wellness Centre also at 1pm

  PORT HOOD, NS, September 13, 2014 - The Cape Breton West Islanders doubled up 6-3 on the Valley Wildcats to earn the opening day of the NS Major Midget Hockey League first win in a game played Saturday afternoon. There are three more games going on this evening as all teams take to the ice.
 
MONCTON FLYERS KEEP WIN STREAK ALIVE
  MONCTON, NB, September 13, 2014 - Three goals by the Moncton Mark’s Flyers were the difference in the game and gave the Flyers a 7-4 win over the Fredericton Canadiens Saturday afternnon in an exhibition game of the NB-PEI Major Midget Hockey League.   MONCTON, NB, September 13, 2014 - A three goal second period outburst by the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles spelled the beginning of the end for the Moncton Wildcats Friday night as the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team dropped it's home season opener 6-3 in front if over 4000 fans at the Moncton Coliseum.
 
ISLANDERS EDGE SEA DOGS IN SEASON OPENER
  CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI, September 13, 2014 - The Saint John Sea Dogs opened the team's tenth Quebec Major Junior Hockey League season with a 3-2 shootout loss to the Charlottetown Islanders Friday night at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown. A third period goal by Daniel Strong and shootout marker by Filip Chiapik led to the Islanders win.
 
CRUSHERS, COMMANDOS OPEN UP 2-0 IN MHL
  CAMPBELLTON, NB, September 13, 2014 - The Dieppe Commandos downed the Campbellton Tigers 3-1 in the latter's season opener Friday night in the Campbellton Memorial Civic Centre and the Pictou County Weeks Crushers edged the Valley Wildcats 5-4 in a shootout in Berwick to both move to 2-0-0 to start the 2014-15 Maritime Junior Hockey League season.

  SUMMERSIDE, PEI, September 12, 2014 -- The Summerside Western Capitals has added a new defenceman to the Maritime Junior Hockey League team's 2014-15 roster. Bobby Zinkan comes to the team after spending the last two seasons in the Western Hockey League, playing more than 100 games with the Swift Current Broncos.

  SAINT JOHN, NB, September 12, 2014 - Taylor Fielding, a 20 year-old forward from Hampton, Ontario, has left the Saint John Sea Dogs on the eve of the season opener to attend university in his native province, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team announced Friday.

  DIEPPE, NB , September 12, 2014 - Four more games are on the schedule Friday as the 12 teams in the Maritime Junior Hockey League continue into day two of the opening weekend of the 2014-15 season. The season opened Thursday with two games.
