Back to News AIGLES BLEUES WIN AUS SEASON OPENER FREDERICTON, NB, October 16, 2008 – Captain Kristine Labrie scored a hat trick Thursday night to help the Université de Moncton Aigles Bleues beat the Saint Thomas University Tommies 5-2 in the opening game of the Atlantic University Sport Women’s Hockey 2008-09 season here at the Lady Beaverbrook Arena. Mariève Provost and Valérie Boisclair added singles in the Moncton win. They dominated their opponents 29-19 on shots on goal.  Michelle Goguen and Jillian Coughlin replied for the Tommies.  The score was 1-1 after 20 minutes and 3-1 after 40.  Kathy Desjardins was the winning goaltender. ‘I am very happy with our performance, said coach Denis Ross. We followed well our game plan and we took advantage of our scoring chances in front of the net.’ The Aigles Bleues will host Saint Mary’s Saturday evening at 7 pm at the J.-Louis-Levesque Arena in the opening home game of the season.  - source - UdeM Sports Information
